Redfish are one of the most popular inshore species in Clearwater, commonly found on shallow grass flats, oyster bars, and mangrove shorelines. Known for their power and aggressive strikes, they are perfect for sight fishing and will eat both artificial lures and live bait.
A top target year-round for anglers of all skill levels.
Snook are hard-hitting ambush predators that thrive around docks, mangroves, and bridges throughout Clearwater and the surrounding Gulf Coast. Famous for explosive strikes and strong fights, they are a favorite among experienced anglers. Snook fishing is best in warmer months when they are most active and feeding aggressively.
Speckled trout are one of the most consistent and fun inshore species in Clearwater, often found over grass flats in large numbers. Great for beginners and families, trout provide steady action and will hit a variety of artificial lures and live bait.
Bigger “gator trout” offer an exciting fight and are a prized catch.
Tarpon are the ultimate Clearwater gamefish, known as the “Silver King” for their size, strength, and acrobatic jumps. Each year, large migratory tarpon move through Clearwater from May through August, offering anglers a chance to hook into a true bucket-list fish. Tarpon fishing is one of the most exciting experiences on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
