CLEARWATER INSHORE FISHING CHARTERS

Looking for a private Clearwater fishing charter? Tightlines Charter is located just a short drive north of Clearwater, giving you quick access to some of Florida's best shallow-water inshore fishing without the heavy boat traffic often found around the busy beaches and marina areas.

Our trips focus on the protected waters of St. Joseph Sound, the mangrove shorelines surrounding Honeymoon Island, and the productive flats stretching north toward Tarpon Springs and Anclote Key. These waters provide outstanding opportunities to catch redfish, snook, speckled trout, seasonal tarpon, and a variety of other inshore species throughout the year.

At Tightlines Charter, every trip is private and customized around your group's goals. Whether you're planning a fun family fishing adventure while visiting Clearwater or you're an experienced angler looking for a technical shallow-water challenge, we'll build the day around your experience level and the conditions.

Families, first-time anglers, and vacationers often choose our Family Inshore Charter, where the focus is on creating a relaxed, memorable day on the water. Using live bait, simple techniques, and plenty of coaching, everyone has the opportunity to catch fish while enjoying Florida's beautiful Gulf Coast scenery.

For anglers looking for a more technical experience, our Signature Trophy Charter is designed around actively hunting quality fish in shallow water. Depending on the tides and conditions, we may sight fish grass flats, quietly work mangrove shorelines, or make precise casts around oyster bars and docks while adapting to changing fish behavior throughout the day.

One of the biggest advantages of fishing just north of Clearwater is the incredible diversity of habitat. Crystal-clear grass flats, mangrove shorelines, spoil islands, oyster bars, residential canals, and open Gulf beaches all create outstanding feeding areas for inshore gamefish. Having access to so many different environments allows us to stay flexible and consistently fish the most productive water available.

Many of our guests stay in Clearwater Beach, Sand Key, Belleair, Indian Rocks Beach, and surrounding communities. The short drive to our launch location is rewarded with access to less pressured water and one of the Gulf Coast's healthiest inshore fisheries.

Whether your goal is watching your child catch their first redfish, learning the fundamentals of inshore fishing, or stalking trophy snook across shallow grass flats, you'll experience a private fishing charter that's built around your group—not a one-size-fits-all trip.

Explore our latest Fishing Reports to see what's currently biting, or book your Clearwater fishing charter and discover why so many visitors choose to make the short drive for an unforgettable day on the water.

Frequently Asked Questions

Year round we catch Redfish, Snook, Speckled Sea Trout, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper and more on the flats. Seasonally we have shots at Tarpon, Cobia, and Spanish Mackerel. Check out our Seasons Page to see more about what's biting when.

We have great fishing 365 days a year. The biggest adjustment is if the fish are schooled up or spread out. In the winter time the water clears up and the Redfish are up on the flats trying to stay warm. Later morning / early afternoon trips are best so things can warm up.  Summer is the opposite, we fish early in the day or dock lights at night. Spring and Fall are definitely the best mix of active fish and great weather.

Beginners are welcome and you will be in good hands! Whether you're making your first cast or you're an experienced angler looking to fish aggressively on light tackle, every trip is tailored to your skill level and goals. We can provide as much instruction and assistance as needed, or step back and let experienced anglers take the lead.

We supply everything from the license, rods, reels and bait. All you need to bring is whatever you want to eat or drink that day. There are always a few extra waters in the cooler.

Absolutely! Captain Paul is an experienced tournament angler and knows how to put you on some serious fish if you have the skills to make it happen! We love going after fish with artificial baits where accurate casts are rewarded.

Well that depends on a few things. Generally I would say the The 2 hour trip is best for those short on time. Maybe trying to get out and back before the rest of the family wakes up while on vacation. The 3 hour is definitely the most popular and best for beginners. Its a great mix of time and focused fishing without eating up half the day. The 4 hour trip is great for experienced anglers looking to make the most of a good tide cycle.
