Tarpon Springs offers one of the most unique inshore fisheries anywhere along Florida's Gulf Coast. Known for its rich maritime history and proximity to some of the region's most productive fishing grounds, the waters surrounding Tarpon Springs provide an incredible mix of shallow sand flats, mangrove creeks, oyster bars, spring-fed bayous, and tidal rivers that support outstanding populations of redfish, snook, trout, cobia, Spanish mackerel and seasonal tarpon throughout the year.
At Tightlines Charter, our Tarpon Springs fishing charters focus on actively targeting fish rather than simply sitting and waiting. Depending on conditions, anglers may sight fish shallow grass and sand flats, work mangrove shorelines and oyster bars for snook, target feeding redfish along tidal edges, or pursue seasonal tarpon as they move through the area. That may sound technical, and it certainly can be, but only if you want it to be. Whether you're making your first cast or you're an experienced angler looking to fish aggressively on light tackle, every trip is tailored to your skill level and goals. We can provide as much instruction and assistance as needed, or step back and let experienced anglers take the lead. Every trip is adjusted to current tides, weather, water clarity, fish activity, and angler experience to maximize opportunities throughout the day.
One of the biggest advantages of fishing Tarpon Springs is the incredible diversity of habitat available within a short run from the marina. The Anclote River winds through the heart of the area, feeding a network of spring-fed bayous and hidden backwaters that provide excellent habitat for snook and redfish. Just outside the river, the waters surrounding Anclote Key Preserve State Park offer expansive sand flats, mangrove islands, oyster bars, and seasonal tarpon migration routes. The shallow waters around Three Rooker Island provide prime opportunities to target big snook and tarpon cruising clear flats, while the surrounding mangrove creeks and tidal shorelines consistently hold feeding gamefish throughout the year.
The Tarpon Springs area is also home to an incredible variety of coastal wildlife. It's common to encounter manatees moving through the rivers and bayous, dolphins feeding along the flats, roseate spoonbills stalking the shoreline, and countless other species of wading birds that thrive within this healthy estuarine ecosystem. Combined with crystal-clear water and breathtaking Gulf Coast scenery, every trip offers much more than just great fishing.
Whether you're looking to experience Florida's famous shallow-water fishery, stalk redfish and snook on light tackle, or explore the incredible waters surrounding Tarpon Springs and Anclote Key, this area provides exceptional fishing opportunities throughout the year.

Inshore fishing for redfish, tarpon and snook with tightlines charter

Known by many names like spotail, Red Drum, or Red this fish never disappoints! Absolutely our favorite fish to target year round. They are aggressive, always hungry and one of the best fights you will ever have.
Ready to sight fish redfish on the flats?
Year round we catch Redfish, Snook, Speckled Sea Trout, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper and more on the flats. Seasonally we have shots at Tarpon, Cobia, and Spanish Mackerel. Check out our Seasons Page to see more about what's biting when.
We have great fishing 365 days a year. The biggest adjustment is if the fish are schooled up or spread out. In the winter time the water clears up and the Redfish are up on the flats trying to stay warm. Later morning / early afternoon trips are best so things can warm up. Summer is the opposite, we fish early in the day or dock lights at night. Spring and Fall are definitely the best mix of active fish and great weather.
Beginners are welcome and you will be in good hands! Whether you're making your first cast or you're an experienced angler looking to fish aggressively on light tackle, every trip is tailored to your skill level and goals. We can provide as much instruction and assistance as needed, or step back and let experienced anglers take the lead.
We supply everything from the license, rods, reels and bait. All you need to bring is whatever you want to eat or drink that day. There are always a few extra waters in the cooler.
Absolutely! Captain Paul is an experienced tournament angler and knows how to put you on some serious fish if you have the skills to make it happen! We love going after fish with artificial baits where accurate casts are rewarded.
Well that depends on a few things. Generally I would say the The 2 hour trip is best for those short on time. Maybe trying to get out and back before the rest of the family wakes up while on vacation. The 3 hour is definitely the most popular and best for beginners. Its a great mix of time and focused fishing without eating up half the day. The 4 hour trip is great for experienced anglers looking to make the most of a good tide cycle.
Quick, fun inshore trip perfect for families, kids, and beginners.
Target redfish, snook, trout, and other inshore species.
A great balance of time and action. Ideal for families and anglers looking for a relaxed, productive trip. Great trip for sunrise sight fishing.
